Tropical Storm Debby is on its way to Florida, and residents are preparing for its impact. The National Hurricane Center issued a bulletin warning that the storm is approaching the Florida Keys from the Gulf of Mexico. The storm, with maximum winds of 40 mph, is moving at 15 mph and is expected to bring tropical storm conditions to parts of Florida.

Tropical Storm Warnings have been issued for areas west of Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys and along the state’s west coast. A Hurricane Watch is in effect for a 200-mile stretch of the panhandle. Storm surges and heavy rainfall are expected, with up to 15 inches of rain predicted in some areas.

Governors of Florida and Georgia have declared a state of emergency in preparation for the storm. This is the fourth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, following Tropical Storm Alberto, Hurricane Beryl, and Tropical Storm Chris in June. Residents are urged to take precautions and stay safe as Tropical Storm Debby approaches the region.
